Welcome Genealogy Club Members!!!!!!

Noreen Craig and I had the pleasure of attending the last conference of The Friends of the National Archives – Pittsfield, MA (NARA), held at the Williams Inn in Williamstown, MA yesterday the 17th of Sept.  “LIfe in the Past Lane”  The NARA in Pittsfield will close soon, their records will be transferred and available at the Library in Pittsfield.

This all day conference had very interesting speakers : Michelle LeClair, volunteer NARA Pittsfield, French Canadian Names and Tricks and Tips doing internet research;  Paul Bunnell, author,  lecturer & Tribal genealogist, Discovering you Native American Roots in Northern New England;  Peter Sisario, Volunteer NARA Pittsfield, Italian for Genealogists;  Meldon WolfgangIII, nationally known author and lecturer on Searching German Ancestors without knowing much German and Directory Research-Getting the most from City Directories;   Lisa Dougherty, Genealogist, Irish Research; and Jean Nudd Elliott, Archivist, NARA Northeast Region,(Jean will be joining NARA in Waltham), If Only I knew Then What I Know Now.

This was a wonderful conference with lots of handouts from all the speakers and from “Friends of the National Archives”.

    Wish I was closer so that I could attend in person, but that won’t happen soon. Being an email member, though, is nearly as good. I have received such terrific assistance and some new places to explore, which have put new zip into my research. Thank you to all the members for your ongoing work and dedication. I so appreciate you!
